Learn from Oscar winners, ASC Cinematographer, PhD’s, and more!
Our unique Virtual Production Master Class offers a rare opportunity for technically skilled professionals—including VFX artists, animators, production crew members, cinematographers, directors, and those transitioning from the games industry—to gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge virtual production techniques within a small-group setting. Balancing both theory and practical application, participants will manage virtual production workflows, from previsualization to final pixel, using industry standard tools such as Unreal Engine and top-of-the-line hardware.
Participants will have the opportunity to apply their new skills in a practical production project, simulating real-world scenarios, and will be guided by award-winning industry experts, including Christopher Probst, ASC, CIO and author of Cine Lens Manual and Synapse VP Cinematographer; Emily Haldeman, VP Supervisor and a 2019 RIT film and animation graduate; and Rich Lee, Synapse VP Supervisor and CCO, and award-winning director, Previz/VFX supervisor, and artist. David Long, director of RIT’s MAGIC Spell Studios and Oscar winner, will co-teach the course along with Flip Phillips (PIXAR alum and Oscar winner) and Mark Reisch (3D Animator) from RIT’s School of Film and Animation.
Course content will include:
• Virtual Art Department Fundamentals
• LED Wall and Volume Operation
• Real-time Environment Integration
• Integration of Traditional Production Elements in Virtual Workflows
This intensive four-day program, priced at $2,500, is limited to 20 participants. RIT will award certification upon completion of the master class.
