Developing curriculum to teach virtual production is a constantly evolving experiment. At RIT, we have navigated several models for skills development and hands-on filmmaking while keeping core focus on the most important theories in film language and narrative design. Educational success relies on elevating technology, art, and design themes in concert and diving deep into both art and engineering.
RIT students “learn by making” and the coursework built to train the next generation of art and technology practitioners on campus is found across film, 3D digital design, and games. The courses are open to a wide variety of majors, embracing the multidisciplinary nature of these emerging creative workflows. Here, you can explore the current catalog of virtual production education found at RIT.
The faculty at RIT are active in promoting our curricular content to communities not studying with us directly on campus. Check out the resources publicly available here to learn skills in virtual production, previsualization, digital design, and more.
